Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
This particular standard makes it clear that teachers need to be up to date on current technology.
Not only is technology rapidly changing and improving in this day and era, but it is also being much more accessable. It is a rare occurance to find a teenage without a phone, and most students have a facebook. As an educator, I should know how people are communicating, and figure out ways to build on my knowledge of technology.

Communication is truly a core part of education, both with parents and students. First of all, technology can be a great way for teachers to teach material and get ideas across to students because there are so many different ways to appeal to various learning styles. Secondly, technology can be so helpful when it comes to communication with parents. While email is a nice tool, online blogs can be so great in connecting parents to the school and keeping them informed. It provides them with an easy way to check what is going on and keep appraised of their children's homework.

Overall, technology can be greatly helpful when it comes to communicating with students and parents. It is important for teachers to utilize take advantage of and use technology as a resource.
